I showed up one Sunday morning for training, never having picked up a Hurl, and by the end of the session, I felt like a member of the team. St Pete’s has a great group of lads, who play hard and celebrate harder, it is the best team environment I have ever been a part of.

Our Season

The NACB training season generally runs from March to August. There is typically 2 team practices a week, one during the week (Wednesday) and one on the weekend. Our training includes fitness, hurling drills, intense physical training, and scrimmages. There are also additional weekday opportunities for physical training and skills development with teammates. We currently train an Intermediate and Junior C team for the NACB National Tournament, and schedule intermittent matches vs. other clubs during the training season.

Tournaments in 2021:

  • Rumble in the Rockies (Denver, Colorado) – TBC
  • North American Championship Finals in Boston, MA. – August 20 – 22

***All current members and prospective recruits are expected to obtain medical clearance from their personal physician BEFORE engaging in club activities.***

Our 2021 season will begin in April and lasts through September. Team dues are due by April 31st, and members must be in good standing to be eligible for exhibition match play. Current members are responsible for supplying their own equipment, at a minimum:

  • hurley (stick)
  • sliotar (ball)
  • helmet
  • cleats

New Recruits

The club provides equipment and training for anyone interested in learning the sport of hurling. New recruits are allowed 1 month of free training and equipment usage. New recruits are eligible for exhibition match play provided they are in good standing.

J1 Students

As per NACB rules, J1 students are welcome to play for our team at National’s provided they receive a transfer from their home club. Contact the club Registrar, Noel Mythen for more information. Visiting Irish and J1’s should try to bring their own equipment.
